Seminal fluid can look very similar to cervical mucus of best quality. However, it is thinner and differs from mucus by its specific smell. This should allow to distinguish the two fluids well. However, to be safe, it is recommended to evaluate mucus before sexual intercourse or 3 to 4 hours afterwards.
